What’s for Dinner?
Naughty Cat has decided not to eat unless she really likes the food. She’s a skinny little thing already, so we’ve been buying different foods to tempt her to eat more. So picky! I sometimes share my meat with her and you should have seen her scarf down our anniversary dinner left overs - prime rib! I thought she may never eat cat food again after that. One thing I know, she trusts us to give her food. She doesn’t complain much if she doesn’t like the food, she just sniffs it and walks away. She suffers some consequences later though, as she is more lethargic and unsteady when she skips meals. This week’s sermon is about God providing, and I can relate to sweet old Naughty Cat. I’d like the prime rib every night, too. Some days I sniff what the Lord puts on my plate and walk away. I suffer similar consequences - my spirit gets lethargic and my steps might get unsteady like hers. I need His food, His Word, His energy and His will to be steady. The Lord knows what I really need for lifelong spiritual health and I trust what our loving Father provides. I will keep working with the Lord on my picky attitude. Naughty Cat is the queen of the house, but the Lord is the King of my heart. How will you give our King thanks for what He put on your plate today? —Tracy
