Office Hero, Life Hero
Readings: Job 38: 1-11, 2 Corinthians 6:1-13, Mark 4:35-41
Our daughter has a new job and her title is Office Hero. Isn’t that great? She assists with multiple duties in the office, offers creative ideas, implements organizational strategies, and helps others do their jobs better. She and I were talking, and we decided we’d like to be more than office heroes, we’d like to be life heroes. We’d like to spend our hours helping other people do their jobs better, helping ministries, being creative, doing all we can to bring success to God’s children. Does God want us to be a life hero for someone else right now? In the reading above from Mark 4, Jesus is the hero when He calms the violent storm. The disciples were still learning about Jesus, and "they were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
If we are believers, we know who He is, and we know His power can make us life heroes if He calls us to that. Oh, He already has called us to that, hasn't He? Beloved, let us love on another...
A special thank you to fathers this weekend, who can be everyday heroes!
God bless all of you, aspiring life heroes!
