Social:      Is territorial, limited interaction with peers, limited social skills

Physical: little fine motor control, Is unsteady in many gross motor movement activities

              IS ON THE GO!

Emotional: tentative-insecure,         needs a significant adult nearby, loving

Cognitive: curious, developing vocabulary, short attention span

A two year old needs…
Social: Opportunities for small group and individual play, planned and free time, modeling of social skills, ATTENTION, opportunities to practice sharing and patience

Physical: small motor; play-dough, tearing, sorting, a safe environment to exercise and play

          Outdoor activities- running, climbing, tactile manipulatives, finger-plays
Cognitive: Discovery opportunities, material to sort and explore, songs, stories, books
       TIME!

Emotional: Reassurance, UNCONDITIONAL love, encouragement, routine

Spiritual:  a safe trusting environment supported by significant adults
