Fellowship
Take a Hike in 2010!
The SEEKERS hiking group has planned some great hikes along with camping and a pool party for 2010. Join your Shepherd of the Desert church family for any or all of these fellowship events. Come for the exercise and fresh air; come for the Christian fellowship; come witness God’s creation and make wonderful family memories. All ages are welcome as most of our hikes are 2 to 6 miles in length and at your own comfortable pace. We always have a great time. Look for monthly information in the Sunday bulletins or contact the family in charge. We are always looking for newcomers!

Ministry Highlight
Faith Development is an incredibly important part of all our lives. In order for us to share this ministry and opportunity with our congregation and community, we need many volunteers. Some new programs are coming for the next program year, with more specific info to come. Volunteer positions we’d like you to think about now include teachers and helpers for Sunday morning classes, plus helpers at the new Mega Life worship service coming this fall. We are looking for volunteers to help plan and coordinate children’s events for Kids for Christ and God Squad, and also we are looking for adult education leaders and fellowship event planners. Please think about ways you may want to serve in this ministry. If you’d like more information about Faith Development, please call Chuck Gerken in the church office. Thanks!
Opportunity to Help Others in Need
If you would like to assist others who are experiencing financial difficulties, you may donate to the Shepherd of the Desert “Good Samaritan Fund.” This fund is established to provide emergency assistance to members of SOTD as well as others in need. The Good Samaritan Fund is currently quite low. If you are interested in making a donation, please make your check out to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church and be sure to mark it “Good Samaritan Fund.”
Thank You! |
