WELCOME TO THE VOLUNTEER MINISTRY

Volunteer Leadership Positions
If you are interested in taking a more active and responsible leadership role in the church, the Ministry Staff would like to talk with you about working with them as Ministry Team Co-Leaders. These lay leaders will assist the Ministry Staff to achieve their ministry goals and serve as the liaison between the Ministry Staff and the congregation. Ministry Team Co-Leaders would help coordinate plans, events and volunteer staffing needs, recruit volunteers and facilitate communication between Ministry Staff and the volunteers.
If your spiritual gifts include leadership or administration and you can volunteer five to six hours a month, please contact the Staff member in the Ministry area of your interest, listed below, to discuss the position in more detail or call the church office at 480-860-1188X400.

Why do we volunteer?
In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul reminds us the body is a single unit and though it is made of many parts, it is one body. So it is with Christ. The church is the body of Christ and each one of us is a part of it. God created us as special, unique individuals with a plan and a purpose for our lives and He gave us certain spiritual gifts, abilities, talents and passions. When we use these gifts of service in Christ's name, we become His hands and feet and heart in our church, our community, our world, showing His love and care. What is it that God is calling you to do with your life? The Volunteer Ministry Team can help you find just the right fit with your talents, your interests and your time.
What are the benefits of volunteer service?
When you serve others in areas that best fit your passions, gifts and skills, you enjoy personal spiritual growth; you become a part of the church community; you have the opportunity to touch the world beyond your home; and you know the joy and satisfaction of being part of the body of Christ.
How much of your time is required?
We have opportunities to fit any schedule from a few hours a year to a few hours a week. Locations of service range from mission trips far afield to telephoning from your own home. Please call and let us help you find just the right time and location opportunity that works for you.
How do I get started volunteering or getting more information?
- You may call Brenda or Tracy to get more information or discuss the service opportunities. Please call the church office, 480-860-1188, ext 400 or you may email Brenda at bchristensen@sotdaz.org.

- Assist the congregation in starting new ministry activities.
- Create training programs for volunteers.
- Search for new service opportunities.
- Assist new members in assessing their spiritual gifts and abilities.
